The purposes of the The Nehrenz Network are:
* To research our ancestors in Germany
* To research or ancestors in the USA
* To network with present-day Nehrenz people
* To reach towards the goal of an eventual Nehrenz History book
The Nehrenz family originated in Germany and Poland. The towns from which they originated are named Trollenhagen (in Mecklenburg Strelitz) and Grishow (in Pomerania). They lived in these villages in the 17 and 1800s.
In October 1869, they emigrated to Cleveland, Ohio after sailing on the ship “SS Borussia” from Hamburg to New York City (to the “Battery” on Manhattan Island, pre Ellis Island).
Now they are living from the west to the east coast of the United States.
