The town in which the Nehrenz's lived during the 1800s was Trollenhagen in Mecklenburg-Strelitz Germany. They left there in Oct. 1869 to come to Cleveland, Ohio. Trollenhagen is a tiny village 3  km north of the famous city of Neubrandenburg, Germany. This is a graphic of the 4 city gates in Neubrandenburg, for which the city is renowned. The body of blue water is the Tollensee lake south of the city. Surely our Nehrenz ancestors had reason to come in from the farming village of Trollenhagen into the city of Neubrandenburg, a mere 3 km away!

This is Noyes St. in Cleveland, Ohio (now W. 12th St), where various members of the Johann Christian Theodor Nehrenz family lived in the 1870s and the 1880s after leaving Trollenhagen, Germany in 1869. (A picture of their first church in the USA is at the end of this web page).
